Jonah and the Shuttle is a three-session, story-based SEL curriculum that invites students in grades 3–6 to explore emotions, celebrate differences, and reflect on their place in the classroom and beyond.

Rooted in real-life experiences, the story centers on Jonah—a neurodivergent boy whose love for city maps and space shuttles inspires his journey through school, emotions, and advocacy. This resource was created by a school counselor (and Jonah’s mom!) to equip educators with inclusive tools that spark conversation, empathy, and belonging.

🧠 What’s Inside the Student Booklet:

  • My Mood Worksheet – Helps students identify emotions during typical classroom situations

  • Character Shuttle – Promotes self-awareness, strengths, and how to help others

  • Brain Dump – Builds confidence, goal setting, and neurodivergent identity awareness

  • Word Search & Prompts – Reinforces vocabulary and personal reflections on kindness, fairness, and inclusion

  • Extension Activities - Coloring sheet and prompts for family engagement at home.

💡 The Facilitator Guide Includes:

  • 3 complete SEL lessons with scripts, discussion questions, and extension ideas

  • Alignment with CASEL competencies and ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors
